This is a Master's Grade Knob Cutter made of solid stainless steel. As the name implies, it's designed to remove knobs or other protrusions without the side angle cut that the concave cutter provides. The knob cutter takes a concave "bite" out of the wood so that when the wound heals, the scar will be less prominent. Master's Grade tools are made out of solid Stainless Steel then tempered for strength. They're handmade from start to finish by Japanese craftsmen. This tool will last a lifetime. 8 1/2 inches in length and the jaws open to 2 inches.
